Hystream Development is a green hydrogen project development business based in the Netherlands and the UK and operating in Belgium and Luxembourg. We are building a track record of delivering green hydrogen projects and future prospects from regional market development to full scale implementation and operation.
History
Building from a heritage in green hydrogen, Hystream Developments was formed by the amalgamation of two established green energy businesses: Hystream BV and QED Group. Each party brings major project management expertise and detailed knowledge of how to manage the risks of this new energy vector.
Hystream BV
Was formed in 2020 to deliver Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management services into the nascent green hydrogen market in The Netherlands. Hystream BV has a team of 10 technical staff and associates, which have enabled the delivery of two hydrogen fuelling stations and developed plans for a hydrogen generation unit.

Was formed in 2023 by the acquisition of two energy businesses who had been operating since 2017, delivering commercial, technical and legal support services, with over 30 staff and a wider team of associates.

Executive Board
- Joep CoenenJoep Coenen has 26 years of experience in process installations, safety and safety systems and sustainable energy systems. Joep has worked for numerous international companies such as Shell (gas and energy systems), Solvay (biogas projects, HSE and safety), TATA Steel and SouthStream (project manager). Joep is also CEO, founder & owner of Hystream.
- Ian StoutIan has worked for 25 years in the clean energy and renewable sectors with extensive experience in delivering major projects. Ian previously held positions at Prosperity Energy, Seawind Ocean Technology and Wood Group. Ian’s experience spans across the project lifecycle from stakeholder engagement, tailoring a solution to win work to programme delivery and operations.
- Keith DalyKeith Daly has over 36 years of experience in the construction and energy industry. He currently serves as the chairman of the QED group and has sectoral experience in oil, gas, power, energy and offshore wind.Keith has a wealth of project-based expertise utilising FIDIC, NEC, bespoke forms of contract and has advised multi-national clients in the renewable energy sector.
